My name is Aidana. I’m Kazakh. From my mother language my name divides on two syllables. First syllable “ai” stands for “moon”, second one, “dana”, translates as “wise, smart”. I’m really proud about the fact that my name was given by my older sister.
I was born and raised in Almaty. I adore my hometown and deeply respect its history. A little fact: I prefer to call Almaty in the old fashion way – Verniy (from Russian translated as “loyal”, “surefire” or “trustworthy”).
I love to talk about myself. The reason behind my ego and unconditional love to myself is that I’m the only child my parents had. My mother instilled in me taste to everything sublime and spiritual. That’s why my second favorite topic to discuss is art. I have fancy for everything related to theaters, cinema, books, music or art.
Since childhood, I thought that I’ll tie up with art “until death do us apart”. I graduated art school as artist/sculptor. But I always enjoyed to write down my thoughts on paper. After school I knew, I want to become a journalist.
In the end, all I can say about myself is that I’m a professional troublemaker and a colorful mess, who wants to bring happiness and good into this world. I have a lot to say, and hopefully, journalism will teach me how to use my voice.
